Are you wondering if there is room for improvement when it comes to your life and circumstances? When your job is no longer satisfying, and you feel stuck in a rut, it’s time to take stock and see how you can bring back some spark to your day. And here are five strategies from personal trainer Rick Saggese that will take you to new heights.

  1. Climb the Corporate Ladder

When you’re bored or unsatisfied with your current position at work, think about reaching higher by applying to a better position or by making a lateral move within or outside of your company. If you need a degree in order to get a promotion, consider taking online classes that will let you study at your own pace, so you can keep working at your current job and care for your family while you earn your degree. Ask your employer if they’ll help you pay for continuing education. Providing such opportunities has been proven to improve employee retention, so it’s a win-win for both parties.

  1. Start a New Career

Instead of being promoted within your company, you may want to get into a completely different line of work altogether. If that’s the case, Career Adicts suggests thinking about what you’re passionate about and what kind of career would suit you best. Take some time to review your work experience, your volunteer experience, and your credentials, and see how it can all fit into a new profession.

When you’ve decided on something new, test the waters by shadowing a professional and spending a day or two at their job, seeing firsthand what they actually do. If you’re interested in working for a specific company, inquire about internship opportunities. And once you know what you want to pursue, look for an online résumé maker to create a professional-looking document you can send to potential employers.

  1. Launch Your Own Business

If you’re tired of working under someone else’s authority, you can use your talent and expertise to start your own business. Launching a new company doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg either. There are many online resources, some of them free or relatively cheap, to help you get started, such as formation services.

You’ll need to choose a business structure before you begin your paperwork. There are four common ones to choose from, but an LLC is very common for new businesses. Choosing an LLC business structure over a sole proprietorship will not only make you look more professional and accomplished, but it will also separate your personal and business assets (which will prevent you from losing your shirt in case of litigation), and it also comes with nice tax advantages.

  1. Make Time for Self-Care

While it is important to have goals and push yourself, you will feel burnt out quickly if you don’t also listen to yourself and your body, and take time to do things that make you happy and feel refreshed. For example, you can practice a hobby that brings you joy, such as playing a musical instrument, painting, reading, or going on nature hikes. Or turn off your phone and electronics after a long day at work and indulge in a relaxing bubble bath.

You can also practice mindfulness or spiritual meditation to slow down your mind. Use this time to look within yourself and uncover your needs and wishes as well as your truth. Find ways to take care of your body and nurture it with healthy food and regular exercise. If you want help finding a new exercise routine, then contact personal trainer Rick Saggese to up your fitness game. And take the time to make yourself feel good about your body. Buy a few items of clothing that make you feel beautiful and powerful, like a great pair of leggings. When you look good, you feel good, and your overall confidence increases. Just a small change, like an item or two of clothing, can make a big difference.

And give yourself time to be social. Sometimes we push ourselves to achieve so many things that we deprioritize socialization. But humans are social animals, and we need time with others to feel like ourselves, explains Psychology Today. So plan a weekend getaway just for yourself or with a group of your closest friends. Discover new places, meet new people and share new experiences: you’ll enrich your life and raise your happiness level.

  1. Find a New Place to Live

Sometimes we just need a fresh start in a new location. It could be a new city or state, or you could simply need to abandon some old memories and move to a new apartment. Look into great options in your desired area, but make sure you stay within your budget. You don’t want to abandon emotional stress only to add financial stress instead. If you’re looking to rent a place in Naples, Florida, expect to pay around $2,500 for a two bedroom in a nice community. You can always search for options that include amenities like an on site gym, pool, laundry, etc.

Focus on Your Goals for Self-Fulfillment

Make the most of your time on earth by taking care of your spirit, mind, and soul. If you’re stuck in an unfulfilling job, work toward bettering your situation. And always carve out moments just for yourself, so you can rest and reset before facing a new day. When you truly take the time to honor your goals and needs, you will discover a whole new level of joy and rejuvenation in your life.
